OFTEC
The purpose of OFTEC is to recognise reputable, qualified installers who are capable of working with oil-fired and condensing boilers.
Members of OFTEC are approved to certify that their work meets Building Regulations. Any customer who uses an OFTEC registered installer will receive an official certificate to confirm that the work done meets the official industry standard.
Any installer who is not registered with OFTEC is required to notify their local authority’s building control department before they carry out any installation work.
Non-compliant work which has not been done by an OFTEC registrant can be reported through OFTEC to the Local Authority Building Control.
To give further assistance, OFTEC provides technical advice and information through various publications such as booklets, information sheets and guides. These products cover the most frequent queries from consumers, installers and technicians.
Registered Technician
The Oil Firing Technical Association known as OFTEC, was founded in 1991 to construct a framework within which oil firing in the UK and Ireland could operate with a greater degree of technical expertise and efficiency.
